GETTING STARTED

Getting Started

The first step is to request a Bowers Wealth Management Information Brochure. When you receive the brochure, review the detailed information and disclosure documents. Then fill out and return the financial questionnaire sheet. If possible, please include a copy of your recent account statements, as this will help us evaluate your existing portfolio.

Next, we’ll work with you to arrive at a strategy that meets your goals, risk tolerance, portfolio preferences, and tax considerations.

From there, your account executive will send you an advisory agreement to sign, and help you through the paperwork of establishing or upgrading to an advisor directed Fidelity account. The account will stay in your name, and you will still be able to monitor all activity that occurs. By giving us discretionary authority, we can then make trades in your account without contacting you beforehand.

Once your account comes up on our system, we’ll normally bring it into position over a period of a few weeks, depending on the investments you're currently holding. You’ll begin receiving monthly statements from Fidelity, and we’ll be sending quarterly reports showing performance on a net-of-fee basis.

For portfolio-related questions, you’ll normally call our office. Deposits and withdrawals are still done through Fidelity, as they retain custody of the account. But we’re happy to provide guidance, and we prefer to be aware of large transactions so we can rebalance the portfolio accordingly. Our investment strategist, Jack Bowers, is available for any questions you may have about investment performance.
